Dupont Circle
Centrally located without feeling like downtown, Dupont Circle is a grand, coveted neighborhood in DC with a lot going for it. With direct adjacency to the more corporate, office-focused parts of town, it’s a neighborhood that many of my clients when they want to walk to work in the mornings and have their choice of bars and restaurants nearby for the evenings. The weekends here are also noteworthy – aside from Georgetown, this might be one of the most bustling pockets come Saturday or Sunday, with a destination-worthy farmers market and so many great spots for brunch. From a real estate perspective, Dupont Circle has a healthy mix of rowhomes and apartments, many maintaining their original charm and grandeur.

Dupont Circle Hotel
This hotel is one of my top recommendations for folks visiting DC who want a central location that still feels a part of a neighborhood. The hotel is just a few steps away from a metro stop, as well as close to some of the city’s best cafes and restaurants. I stayed here one summer evening and it was a delight!
I enjoyed dinner at The Pembroke with a friend, with live music from the patio at the Doyle filtering in through the background, and afterwards we sat on the balcony overlooking the city, swapping notes on our business dreams for the season ahead. Breakfast in the morning was served back at The Pembroke, a space that absolutely sparkles in the daytime light.

Part museum, part event venue – so time it right, because there could very well be a wedding on the docket during your visit, and I’d argue that this is one of the most lovely gems in DC that really isn’t worth missing. It’s spaces like these that transport me to Europe in just an instant.
I have visited a handful of times, most memorably during a floral event, where every room had a special arrangement from a local artist. Next time, I’ll bring a book so that after I wander through the museum, I can rest outside by the water – oh how I wish I could swim in this!
