Paris / notes from Montmartre
You’ll likely head towards Montmartre to see the infamous Sacre Coeur, and before heading downhill, I’d encourage you to stay and explore the area for a bit – Montmartre is home to a handful of charming cafes, colorful little streets plucked from the pages of a fairytale, and pockets brimming with music and energy, making it worthwhile corner of the city to spend an afternoon in before perhaps heading into Pigalle for dinner. Be prepared though for some hills – I’d recommend starting at the very top near the cathedral, and slowly winding your way downhill, and be sure to stop by the @les.5.marches and the fotoautomat along your way.
ESSENTIAL STOPS (view on a map)
@hardwaresociete or @mignoncafeparis for breakfast / brunch; @sylondemontmartre is also on my list, but I haven’t tried it!
@les.5.marches is a must for a coffee or an afternoon glass of wine – the space is quaint but gorgeous; also check out @clovecoffeeshop
Explore the neighborhood behind the cathedral, and be sure to pop over to Villa Leandre
Place du Tertre is charming but crowded and touristy; the area though is cute for some street photography
The fotoautomat is a must – a cute photobooth tucked into the side of a building
@cheztoinette_restaurant for dinner – I haven’t tried it personally, but I have it noted
